Nothing super exciting happened today. I'm currently in the process of relaxing, watching tv, and starting to outline the year for the middle school general music class. I can't believe it's already August. Since it is...here is my final countdown for the rest of summer:
6 days-Road trip to Nashville
21 days-Band camp at HHS
30 days-1st day of school
That last countdown makes me excited, sad, and nervous. I'm excited because I always love the first few days back at school. I miss my kids and I miss being with my colleagues. This will be a great year and I'm very excited. I'm sad because I feel like summer got past me again hah. I have been in the sun more this summer, but haven't gotten to the beach. I may be able to get down there for a day...we shall see. I'm nervous because I'm always nervous for a new year. It's a new year, new expectations, new choir, new mix of kids in the general music rooms, new everything. I always set high expectations for myself and hopefully will achieve some of the goals :)
Speaking of the first day of school...I should get going on my outlining for the new year in middle school. I have a conference tomorrow and am hoping to find some new and helpful tools for the middle school general music classroom.
Top 5 for the day:
1. Successful voice lesson with a new student
2. Not having to wait super long at the doctor's office for a shot
3. Little traffic on the way home
4. "The Bachelorette" finale tonight
5. Coming home to a clean apartment :)
